The Town Olympics channels the spirit and prestige of the Olympic games by allowing high school students to compete for local bragging rights against area towns through a number of popular sports this summer. Our goal is to encourage athletic competition that has the power of uniting communities and building an intense tradition that local athletes can get excited about every year.
Towns across Massachusetts are divided into four districts, and each town will play only those teams within their district. The Town Olympics offers flag football, soccer, and basketball for males, and it offers lacrosse, soccer and basketball for females. The only major requirement for this summer event is that you MUST play for the town in which you live. Games will be played one night a week for each sport at neutral locations, and standings and statistics will be kept up to date for the entire season. At the conclusion of the regular season, a typical playoff format will commence and the teams, seeded 1-4, will compete for the Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals as well as the satisfaction of besting their local rivals. The best town in the district will be decided by totaling the Gold, Silver, and Bronze medals earned through all of the competitions by each town.
